STARZ brings the festive feeling with the Outlander Yule Log
STARZ is certainly showing continued support for Outlander throughout Droughtlander. The festive feeling is here with the Outlander Yule Log.
During the last Droughtlander, fans were disappointed by the lack of support for Outlander from STARZ. That’s changed this year, and the most recent support is through the Outlander Yule Log.
We’re getting into the holiday spirit. To help bring something for all religions and celebrations, STARZ has focused on the “Yule Log” instead of a Christmas tree or another tradition. And it certainly makes sense considering the time period and the culture. The Scots wouldn’t have celebrated Christmas as much as the English.

In fact, in the 17th century, the observation of Yuletide was abolished. It was a Roman Catholic holiday, and the Presbetaryians didn’t put that much emphasis on Christmas.
Yes, Jamie is Catholic, but there would still have only been a quiet focus on Christmas. Hogmanay was the bigger celebration. That would have continued into the Colonies for some.
However, there would have been the quiet observation of Yuletide, which would have included a Yule log. And we mean the real type of Yule log (although the chocolate log version now is certainly delicious).
STARZ is getting in the spirit with an hour-long video that will bring both the festive feeling and ease you during Droughtlander. The video is set in front of the roaring fireplace at Fraser’s Ridge, dec’d for the holidays. The music plays in the background, bringing some of your favorite themes from throughout the entire series. Isn’t Bear McCreary’s music just perfect?

You’ll want to put this on a few times. I also recommend casting it to your TV screens and having it on while you’re wrapping presents, just keep an eye out for Adso, who shows up now and then.
