Outlander Season 4, Episode 4 saw the ratings tick back up. It was the start of positivity for the series moving forward.

Live ratings tend to move up and down. While the first three episodes of Outlander Season 4 ticked down in the total audience, Episode 4 saw the start of some upward ticks. And like the previous episode, the demo continued to rise.

The episode aired on Nov. 25, 2018 for the first time. It was an episode that continued some of Brianna and Roger’s story, while beginning the story on Fraser’s Ridge for Claire and Jamie. It offered an excellent blend of the two storylines, bringing about some of the difficulties Claire and Jamie would face while living on lands neighboring a Native tribe and showing what could happen to the two through a newspaper clipping found by Fiona in the 70s.

Looking back at the Live + Same Day ratings, Season 4, Episode 4 saw the demo tick up by a healthy 7%. It was only a point in the demo, but it was still a good sign for the show. Meanwhile, the total audience ticked up by 11%, getting us closer to being back over the million marker.

These ratings are still just a snapshot of the amount of people who likely watched the episode. After all, the TV Series Finale metrics are just the Live + Same Day ratings from Nielsen. There’s no telling just how many watched through the STARZ app. That isn’t something Nielsen tracks yet, only just starting to track Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

The great news was that this was the start of a series of climbs. In fact, only two episodes would see downward ticks in the demo and the audience, and one of those was understandable considering the date!
