Will Tobias Menzies be in The Crown Season 4?

We know that The Crown Season 4 is definitely happening. As an Outlander fan, you’re possibly wondering about Tobias Menzies’ role. Will he be in it?

Outlander fans have had 10 episodes of another TV show to get them through Droughtlander. There are chances that you’re already through them and looking for more. The Crown Season 4 is definitely happening, but will we get to see Tobias Menzies in the Netflix series?

There’s some great news for those who are watching it mostly for Menzies. He will be back for the fourth season. The current lead cast is going to be back in their roles.

Wait, why wouldn’t the lead cast be back? Well, The Crown has changed the lead cast. The first two seasons saw Claire Foy and Matt Smith in the roles of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Olivia Colman and Menzies took over the roles for the third season. It’s easy to worry that they wouldn’t be around for the fourth.

However, the idea for showrunner Peter Morgan was that the cast would change every two seasons to show the aging of the characters. Netflix is still to commission The Crown Seasons 5 and 6, but there is a high chance they’ll happen. That’s when we’ll lose Menzies in the role of Prince Philip.

The Crown Season 3 certainly gave Outlander fans a chance to see the man who played Frank and Black Jack Randall in a vastly different role. Menzies showed the subtle shock and sadness during the Aberfan episode. Then during the Apollo 11 episode, we had a chance to see him play a man who had lost faith, who didn’t know what he had accomplished with his life.

We’ll see him continue from 1977 and into the 80s and possibly 90s in The Crown Season 4. That season is currently in production according to a recent article from Variety.
