The Crown Season 3 with Tobias Menzies will be available in the UK for free

If you’re in the UK, there’s some great news for those looking to see Tobias Menzies in The Crown Season 3. The first episode will be available for free.

The Crown Season 3 will be available on Sunday, giving the world a chance to see the new cast in the various roles. One of those is Outlander‘s Tobias Menzies, who takes on Prince Philip from Matt Smith. Those in the UK who want to check it out can do so for free, but there is a catch or two.

The biggest catch is that the whole season won’t be available. You’ll only be able to watch the first episode. It’s a way to see if releasing an episode for free entices first-time subscribers to join the service. It can also see which types of shows work best for viewers to draw them in.

Another catch is that it’s only available for a month. You’ll need to head to the official Netflix site for the show and will have until Dec. 15 to watch. After that, the series will only be available to stream with a Netflix membership.

Of course, this is also only available for viewers in the UK. Netflix has tested this sort of offering in India and South America before. Now it’s time to test it on the UK audience. There is a chance that this offering will happen for other shows in the U.S., Canada, and other locations in the future.

The Crown Season 3 is a big one to test with. While the show is already a popular one for the streaming network, the third season sees the biggest change. The entire cast is changing. Same characters but different people playing them, which could turn some viewers off. It’s going to be interesting to see how fans react to this as they watch. After all, there is going to be a lot of comparison with Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, Matthew Goode, and others.

UK fans will be able to watch the show on Nov. 17, with the first episode available at the same time as the rest of the season. To watch the first two seasons and the rest of the third, you will need a Netflix membership.
