Outlander has finally given us an official casting alert for Season 5. We get to know who will be playing the Beardsley twins and more.
It’s only three months before Outlander Season 5 premieres but the show has finally given us some official casting notices. We get confirmation about the Beardsley twins, while also learning about a new face and a returning character.
Back in October, we learned that the Beardsley twins may be played by just one person. It’s something that shows can do to save money, using CGI when the two twins are needed on screen together. It looks like that’s something Outlander is choosing to do, as the show confirmed Paul Gorman has been cast in the two roles.
The Beardsley twins are two extremely important characters for Lizzie’s storyline moving forward. This is definitely going to be exciting. I won’t share the details in this post, but there will be a book spoiler post coming up soon.
Bronwyn James was the next actress announced to have a role in the fifth season. She’ll play Fanny Beardsley. If you’re like me, you probably thought of a Fanny that turns up later in the books. This isn’t the young 12-year-old that Claire takes under her wing.
Fanny has a heartbreaking storyline in the fifth book, something that many fans wondered whether it would be included in the fifth season. Well, it looks like she is. Again, I won’t go into details but expect tears, outrage, and more.
Finally, Philip Wylie is back. He was initially introduced in Season 4 at the dinner party in the premiere episode. Chris Donald is back to play him in the fifth season. Why could he be back in the season? We’ll get into that during the week!
