Tensions are rising in the 1960s UK in The Crown Season 3 trailer. Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, and Helena Bonham Carter are among the stars taking on the roles of the various characters, stepping in from their predecessors for the last two seasons. And now we get our first real glimpse at what to expect.
Colman’s Elizabeth is struggling to hold onto power. Menzies’ Philip knows that there’s a real risk to the crown. If a certain man gets into power, the whole monarchy will be done for. That’s what he feels anyway. Does he have it right to feel that way? We all know how history played out in the end, but this is a chance to feel it in real-time.

This is certainly going to be a season for Outlander fans, and not just for Tobias Menzies in one of the lead roles. As Outlander enters a time of tension in the Colonies, The Crown enters the threat to the monarchy in the 1960s.
