Are you looking forward to a new season of The Crown? With Tobias Menzies starring as Prince Philip, there’s no doubt that you can’t wait to support him in another role—and a role so different to Black Jack Randall or Frank Randall.
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for The Crown Season 3. Sadly, it doesn’t include our favorite Outlander villain. Considering the series is mostly focused on Queen Elizabeth II’s life, it’s not that surprising that it’s all about her, played by the brilliant Olivia Colman.

The Crown Season 3 will pick up in 1964. In the teaser, we get a glimpse of the changes happening. This show isn’t trying to cover up the fact that there’s a change of cast. Instead, it’s grasping that change with both hands and flaunting it in the teaser.
We get to see a side portrait of Claire Foy playing the queen. Then we get a side portrait of Colman’s portrayal. The comment is about “the transformation from young woman to…” and of course, Colman’s Elizabeth interrupts with “old bat.” It’s a comment that will make you smile, especially considering her straight face. Elizabeth has always been conscious of her appearance and she clearly worries about aging, but there’s nothing she can do about it.
It will be fun to see how the changes to other cast members are handled. Will we get to see the transformation from Matt Smith to Tobias Menzies or from Vanessa Kirby to Helena Bonham Carter?
The Crown Season 3 is going to be a show to help you get through Droughtlander. This teaser is just the reminder that it’s coming in November.
