If you currently use Comcast Xfinity for the STARZ channel to watch Outlander, other originals, and movies, be ready for a change. The channel may be going.
There’s a potential blackout coming for Comcast Xfinity. STARZ is warning fans of Outlander, Power, and more that there’s a chance the channel will be gone from the Xfinity service.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. As contracts come to an end, networks and cable companies negotiate new contracts. In some cases, those negotiations go without a hitch, but there are other times that the two sides can’t agree. This is one of the latter cases.

According to Deadline, Comcast has noted how STARZ’s platforms are changing. No longer is the premium cable channel only available through an extra package on a cable channel. Now STARZ offers its own app and viewers can subscribe to the app through Amazon Channels, Hulu, and other sources.
Should a deal not be met, STARZ will be removed from the Comcast Xfinity platform. This is going to happen on Dec. 10 if nothing changes. Of course, there’s time between now and then for the two companies to negotiate a deal that works for both.
However, the premium cable network is in a position where it doesn’t need to offer too much. After all, you can go direct to STARZ through the app, getting all the content you want on-demand. Outlander is released at midnight on the app, so viewers get to see it before it airs on the channel on Sunday nights. It’s just disappointing for those who prefer to watch through more traditional methods.
