Outlander Season 3, Episode 5 ratings: The one before the big reunion

Outlander Season 3, Episode 5 was the episode that brought Claire back to Jamie in the past. Here’s a look at the ratings for the buildup to the reunion.

On Oct. 8, 2017, Outlander Season 3, Episode 5 aired for the first time. Since I missed it last week, I’m doing the ratings look back this week.

This was an all-important episode for fans. It was the episode just before Claire and Jamie were reunited. While the reunion sort of happened at the end, this episode was mostly focused on Claire finally finding out where Jamie was in the past and making her decision to return to him.

It wasn’t an easy decision to make. She was leaving her daughter, Brianna, behind. However, after everything, Brianna made an extremely mature and unselfish decision in encouraging her mother to head to the past. This was just after losing her father, but she was able to accept she would be effectively orphaned in her own time to make sure her mother was happy.

So, how did the episode perform in terms of ratings? We can look at TV Series Finale to look back and review the Live + Same Day ratings.

It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that the ratings ticked up a little from the previous episode. Fans were getting ready for Claire and Jamie to be reunited. It was only a small tick up in both figures: 3% in the demo and 0.5% in the total audience.

After this, fans had to wait an extra week for Claire and Jamie to finally reunite in full. Oct. 15 saw a week break, leaving fans at the edge of their seats to see how the scenes would play out and whether they would be like “Voyager.”
