A Discovery of Witches releases first look at Steven Cree in Season 2
Steven Cree is going to play Gallowglass in A Discovery of Witches Season 2. The production has released the first look at the character (and his beard).
All joking of beards aside, A Discovery of Witches has started to release images of its second season. We initially got a look at Matthew and Diana in Elizabethan England, but now it’s time to get our first look at Steven Cree.
Cree was announced recently as Gallowglass, who will have an extremely important role in the next season (and the third if the show sticks to the book storyline). He’s nephew to Matthew Clairmont, but also has a connection to Diana. You’ll have to wait to find out what that connection is during the season.

A Discovery of Witches gives us the stock promo image of Gallowglass to keep us entertained. Filming only just recently started, so we can’t expect too much more just yet. The great news is that we’ll get the season sometime next year!
When releasing the image, A Discovery of Witches couldn’t help but make a joke about the beard. it’s been an ongoing thing since Outlander Season 5 filming at Midhope Castle had to be canceled. The reason was that one of the actors had a beard for another role that he couldn’t remove for Outlander, and everyone immediately suspected Steven Cree. It was soon clear that suspicions were correct.

Many Outlander fans are ready to see Cree in another role. It helps that A Discovery of Witches is highly recommended as a show (and book series) to get through Droughtlander. Sadly, we won’t have new episodes before Droughtlander is over but it will be something to get us through the next Droughtlander!
