Diana Gabaldon has shared more chapter titles for Outlander Book 9. What can you guess from the reveal of the 10 titles revealed?

As part of the Outlander Book 9 Daily Lines, Diana Gabaldon has been revealing some of the titles of chapters. The latest 10 are all from the chapters in the 30s, although she does point out that the numbers and titles may not eventually match up.

Sharing the titles on Twitter, Diana has left us with plenty of questions and excitement. There are a few titles that are going to stand out for different reasons depending on the person, but there’s one that stands out the most for me.

“I Have Returned” is the title for Chapter 39 right now. So, who has returned? Who is going away?

With how large the books have become in terms of main characters, there are so many options. While our initial instinct will be that Jamie and Claire are being separated again, it’s important to remember that this is about the books. Diana Gabaldon doesn’t separate Claire and Jamie as much as the show tends to do.

We could see Brianna and Roger leave again. There’s a chance we could see Willie or Lord John Grey return to the Frasers. There are so many options that it makes this chapter title extra exciting.

Another one that stands out for me is Chapter 35, “The Son of a Preacher-man.” Do you have the song stuck in your head right now? This could likely connect to Roger in some way. Will it be about Jemmy or will it involve Reverend Wakefield?

Anyone else eager to find out? There isn’t a date for “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone” just yet, but we’re keeping an eye out for that. We likely won’t get a date for another couple of months, though.
