Outlander Book 9: Diana Gabaldon still has another two months of writing!
Sorry to bring some bad news, but Outlander Book 9 isn’t ready yet. Diana Gabladon has shared there’s still two months of writing left.
Hoping to get your hands on the ninth Outlander book before the end of the year? I don’t see it happening. After all, the writing still has another two months to go, according to author Diana Gabaldon.
Confusion arose on Twitter when Gabaldon retweeted Saeed Jones’ tweet with a caption “speaking of galleys…(cough).” Fans of her novels immediately thought that it meant it was getting to the proofreading and editing stage of her novel. That’s not the case.

Later, the author reminded fans that she’d told everyone there were two more months to go with the writing process. And that’s just a guide based on the number of times she’s written a novel before. She knows her own process.
The publishers don’t have a plan for a date just yet. There’s nothing publishers can do until they receive the manuscript and the earliest that will happen is sometime in November 2019. Will there be enough time to get things organized for a December release?
That would depend on when exactly in November they get it. We all know there’s a huge demand for this book, but it really is time to stop pushing Gabaldon for a release date. Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone will be finished when it’s finished. We know it’s getting close, but everyone needs to just calm down!

Patience is a virtue, Sassenachs. At least we’re not like the Game of Thrones fans who have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for Book 6 in the series only to find out George R.R. Martin was working on another book instead!
