Outlander will take to the stage at NYCC 2019. The location is set. Could this location give us a hint that the Season 5 premiere will be shown?

Outlander is heading back to New York Comic-Con 2019. We now have a location of the panel, which could hint that a screening of the Season 5 premiere is going to happen.

Like in 2018, the cast and EPs will take to the stage at Madison Square Gardens. This is one of the external locations, about a 20-minute walk away from the Jarvits Center. It’s not my favorite location out of the lot, but it is the biggest.

The location has the biggest screen for the fans, set up more like a theater than a convention room. This could suggest that the Season 5 premiere will be screened, similarly to the way the Season 4 premiere was screened for con-goers at NYCC 2018.

I’m still on the fence about a screening happening. One thing to point out is that the premiere for Season 5 isn’t going to be until Feb. 16, 2020. That’s four months away from New York Comic-Con. Last year, the con was only a month away from the premiere date, so a screening made sense.

By Oct. 5, there’s a chance that the show won’t even be ready to show. Filming will still likely be going on and the premiere may not even be edited in full. Instead of a screening of the full episode, there may be an exclusive sneak peek and a new trailer released.

So, why Madison Square Gardens? I believe this is more to do with the size of the room. The panel was packed last year with fans. This was one of the most popular panels at NYCC 2018, and that will likely be the case for this year. Putting the panel in the largest room makes sense to ensure as many fans can be there as possible, especially with Saturday being the busiest day.
