Outlander Season 5: Twins cast but probably not THE twins
Twin boys have been cast in Outlander Season 5. Who will they play? Well, it’s not likely THE twins you’re thinking of based on their ages.
Two twin boys are the latest new cast members joining Outlander Season 5. If you’re thinking that they’re THE twins from “The Fiery Cross,” guess again.
The ages don’t match up. KR Management welcomed Matthew and Andrew to the cast, and their father quickly screenshot and tweeted out about how proud he was for his two boys. It was immediately clear that while twins, they’re not going to play the infamous Beardsley twins in the series—we’re still looking out for THAT casting!

So, who could the two boys play? They’ll likely take on the role of one character in the series. This is often the case with young actors due to child labor laws. It’s easier to get twins to allow for consistent filming than having to break up the schedule too much for the adult actors and the production. Considering the two are identical twins, both playing the same role is highly likely.
Based on the fact that the two boys are three years old, there are high chances they’ll be playing one of Claire and Jamie’s grandsons. This could be an older Jemmy (Brianna and Roger’s son) if the show jumps forward in time enough, but it could also be Germain. And yes, Germain would be classed as a grandchild since Jamie officially gave Fergus his name.
I’d go with Germain for now. The age would be more appropriate and the hair coloring suits Germain more. The boys have light blonde hair, which is very similar to Lauren Lyle’s coloring.

We’re still keeping a close eye on the casting. Hopefully, some official announcements will be made soon. After all, there are many roles to fill for Outlander Season 5 and none of the major roles have been officially announced yet.
