The last four episodes took us through the 20-year separation. We saw Claire’s pregnancy and the attempt to reconnect with the 20th century again, while Jamie was saved after Culloden. The next episodes took us through Claire’s life with Frank and Jamie’s journey hiding in a cave and then as a prisoner. Now it’s time to get Claire and Jamie back together.

This episode is mostly set in 1968. Claire, Brianna, and Roger took to the books to figure out where Jamie is and whether he’s still somewhere in the 18th century, giving Claire hope that she can get back to her love. However, hope was lost in Episode 4. Roger may offer another chance and he’s come to Boston to offer it.
For those who want to get to know Brianna and Roger better, this is an important episode. It’s a chance to see the two connect over their love for history. Brianna learns more about who she is and who her father is. It’s also a chance for her to understand more about Claire’s life in the last 20 years, as well as the journey Claire went on in the past.
