Amazon’s upcoming Carnival Row has an August release date. A certain Outlander Bonnie Prince is part of the cast.

If you enjoy watching shows with former Outlander actors in, then you’re going to want to pay attention to the upcoming Amazon Original, Carnival Row. It will drop in August and Andrew Gower is part of the main cast.

Yes, the series has landed our Bonnie Prince Charlie. Mark me, I’m sure he won’t be as annoying as he was in our series — or will he? There isn’t much information about the upcoming series, but it will get a panel at SDCC 2019 to share more. We also know that it will premiere on Aug. 30, 2019.

More from Outlander Fandom

If you’ve been following other projects the Outlander cast members have been involved in, you’ll likely recognize the date. It’s the same date Caitriona Balfe’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will debut on Netflix on the same day.

While you’re deciding which show to watch first — the Netflix series is animated while Carnival Row is live-action — you’ll want to know more about Gower’s role. He’ll play Ezra Spurnrose, the scion of one of Burgue’s most prominent families. He finds himself in financial problems after a bad business deal, and partners with a man named Puck reluctantly. However, he learns that his sister Imogen may be falling for Pick and he needs to protect his family’s reputation.

For those who have heard nothing of Carnival Row, it’s set in the Victoria period but with mythological creatures. They’re seeking refuge but that’s led to segregation and a social class status. A string of murders threatens to disrupt the weak threads of the social class, causing more tensions to rise.
