Outlander fans constantly worry about the show ending before the full story is told. As long as there are books, Toni Graphia doesn’t plan on the series ending.</h2

If you’re worried about Outlander the TV series coming to an end, you don’t need to. At least, not yet. Toni Graphia, one of the executive producers on the series, admitted that while there are books, there is a series.

Of course, this doesn’t account for other changes behind the scenes or STARZ deciding it’s time to bring the series to a close. However, with the amount of people who subscribe to the streaming service when the series is on, it would be a silly idea for the premium cable channel to bring the show to an end just yet. This isn’t like Power where there are no more stories to tell.

More from Outlander News

As Graphia told Digital Spy, there are 10 books planned in the series. Diana Gabaldon is currently working on Book 9, titled “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone,” and she’s already shared that there will be a 10th book. That’s all she’s planning for now, but Graphia thinks there could be more in the future if Gabaldon’s characters continue talking to her.

While there are books, there will be a show. There are still plenty of stories to tell thanks to the source material. While the show doesn’t always stick to the main storyline for various reasons (mostly time and budget but also due to keeping actors like Duncan Lacroix around), it’s mostly stuck to the tale while offering something for show-first fans to delve into without too many questions.

Will the show ever get ahead of the books like Game of Thrones did? Probably not, although Graphia says that they do tease Gabaldon with the idea. However, Gabaldon has previously said that it wouldn’t be possible with how long it takes to produce a season of the series vs. the fact that she has one book left after the one she’s working on.

That will be a relief to many book-first fans.
