Looking to get another taste of Outlander? If you’re close to the Highland Folk Museum, you’ll want to attend the annual Outlander Day in June.

Okay, so it’s not on Outlander Day — although that would be awesome — the Highland Folk Museum holds its own annual Outlander Day. You’ll get to see the life of 18th-century people on June 1.

The open-air museum is especially important to the world of Outlander. It was used as a set for the series in the very first season when Claire and the men were on the rent party. On June 8, 2019, you’ll get to experience everything Claire would have during her time in the small village, including wool waulking — but you won’t need to use your own urine for this!

While Claire and Jamie won’t be there, you’ll still get to experience what 18th-century life would have been like. This is also family-friendly, so you’ll get to experience the series while your children explore and learn more about life in the past.

The Highland Folk Museum shows live from the early 1700s to the 1950s. There are now 30 historical buildings with furnishing to show the various time periods, with some built from scratch and others moved from various locations. If you just want to stick to the 1700s you can, but this could be a chance to see life after Culloden, changes that were made, and life into the 20th century.

In the 18th-century section, there are six houses. You can walk along the mile to work through the time periods to the 1930s at the very end. However, during Outlander Day, it’s all about the 18th century and the experiences Claire would have witnessed when on the rent party. And yes, you’ll even get to dress up and feel like you live there.
