Emmys 2019: STARZ putting in six Outlander nomination considerations
It’s the time of year when networks start putting their shows in for consideration for the Emmys 2019. STARZ is putting Outlander in for six nomination considerations.
STARZ is putting forward its considerations for the Emmys 2019. Outlander is on the list of shows up for consideration for nominations and there are six categories that STARZ wants the awards body to consider.
It’s not unusual for the networks to put forward a number of people for various different categories. This has happened before but not each nomination will become official. Right now, all the considerations will go up against each other to see if they’re worth nominating for the actual Emmy Awards.

The Emmys 2019 has received considerations for:
- Drama Series
- Drama Actress – Caitriona Balfe
- Drama Actor – Sam Heughan
- Drama Supporting Actress – Sophie Skelton
- Drama Supporting Actor – Richard Rankin
- Drama Guest Actress – Maria Doyle Kennedy
Opting for the two main leads and two newer co-stars on the series isn’t all that surprising. It will be interesting to see the clips used to put them forward – I think Richard Rankin’s scene at the end of “Providence” should be one of the ones used.
Nor is it that surprising that the show has been put forward for Drama Series. This is a standard consideration, but it’s not always nominated. Over the last few years, Caitriona Balfe has held the only nomination for the Emmys.
For the Emmys 2019, STARZ also wants the body to consider Maria Doyle Kennedy, who played Aunt Jocasta in the series. While I do agree with this, it’s also a shame that David Berry hasn’t been put forward for consideration, too. He did, after all, get a strong storyline in Episode 6, titled “Blood of My Blood,” and is a fan favorite.
The Emmys 2019 nominations will be declared on July 16, so we’ve some time to wait before we learn who has been nominated. This also means there’s time for STARZ to add more to the considerations list.
