This was certainly a good episode for pushing forward the Culloden plot. At the same time, it gave us Claire back in her element as a healer. Here are my five favorite moments from the episode.
Claire finding something useful to do
Claire certainly started struggling in France. With nothing to do except have tea with the ladies, she found that she didn’t have purpose. She wanted to help stop the Jacobite rebellion too but there was no role for her in this stage.
So, she decided to find something to do. After hearing about a charity hospital, she headed out to see what she could do to help. Naturally, Mother Hildegard watched her with suspicion but Claire gracefully proved her worth. She was quickly put to work.
I loved seeing Claire find something useful to do and I liked how she proved her worth. She didn’t complain about being the one to clean up urine. Instead, she got on with the task she was given and then used her skills when she could. This is the side of Claire that I love.
