5 best moments from Outlander Season 2, Episode 1
4. Frank’s reaction to the pregnancy
I feel sorry for Frank throughout the first two seasons of Outlander. He’s never asked for anything that’s happened to him up to this point. Yet, when Claire returns, he rushes straight to Inverness and companies her out of the hospital and to Reverend Wakefield’s. It immediately shows his love for her.

That continues as he hears her story and tries to figure out what she’s been through for the last two years. However, it all changes when he learns about the pregnancy. While I do adore the conversation between Frank and Reverend Wakefield about raising the child and when Frank decides that he will take on that responsibility, it’s the immediate reaction that is my favorite part of the episode.
We get that moment of joy, shock, and realization. He wants to be happy bt then he realizes that the child isn’t going to be his. It’s Jamie’s child, and he’s angry. After years of trying with Claire, she returns pregnant by another man.
There’s the moment in the shed when Frank is letting the anger out. His emotion is raw and I get shivers every time I watch this episode. This reminds me of how amazing Tobias Menzies is at acting.
3. The moment stepping off the plane/boat
I know this is something many fans remember about Outlander Season 2, Episode 1. In 1948, Claire steps down from the plane. She stops at the last step and looks around before she fully disembarks.
Frank holds out his hand to Claire and she reaches out to take it. It’s then that the scene changes. Claire doesn’t grab Frank’s hand, but Jamie’s. This is an excellent way to handle the time jump back to 1744, where Claire is disembarking the ship in France.
