Roger and Brianna got more focus than ever before in Outlander Season 4. Will that continue in Outlander Season 5? Will we get to see that relationship develop?
During Outlander Season 4, we got to see more focus on Brianna and Roger. That’s not surprising since about 50% of the book is made up of these two characters. Roger, especially, gets a lot of attention. But what about moving forward? Will Outlander Season 5 continue the characters’ development.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, EP Maril Davis shared that there will be some time spent on the couple. The two haven’t had much time together in the same place, both when they were dating and now that they’re married.

For the Season 4 finale, the important part was having Roger accept the child as his own, something that does happen in the books. The EPs and writers didn’t need to rush the storyline since the two-season renewal for Seasons 5 and 6 came during production on the fourth season. Plans could change slightly to take more time with a storyline.
And that’s certainly what happened. We spent more time with Roger as a captive of the Mohawks, while Brianna spent more time getting to know Lord John Grey. Now there are lots of questions for Roger and Brianna to work through. Both are passionate people and can be extremely stubborn, so they’re going to have to learn how to live with each other.
What does that mean for Claire and Jamie? Well, it certainly doesn’t mean all the attention will be taken away from them. One of the good things is that Outlander Season 5 will see all four main characters (and yes, they are now all considered main characters) living at Fraser’s Ridge. With everyone in one place, it will be easier dividing up the storylines.
