4. Her bonding with Joanie

Before anyone had any idea who Brianna really was, we got to see the three women bond. Laoghaire showed her caring and kind side, the side that her daughters will have seen the most. But most importantly, we got to see the bond form between Brianna and Joanie.

I wasn’t sure what Joanie made of Brianna at first but the two managed to find some common ground in the garden. They bonded over the red hair and their love for flowers in the hair.

My favorite part of all this was in the bed. As Laoghaire told the story of Naomi and Ruth, Joanie came in to listen to it and snuggled into Brianna. It was such a sweet moment and helped set up Joanie’s decision to help free Brianna.

3. Getting to meet Ian Murray

Oh, how I wish a little more time could have been spent with Brianna and Ian. While I know that things had to change because Laura Donnelly wasn’t available, I did hope that Ian would take her place. I’d hoped that we would see more of the meeting between Brianna and Ian.

What we did get was lovely. No questions were asked. Ian had known Jamie long enough to know that this was his daughter. He could see it in the hair but also see Claire’s eyes. Then there was the Fraser spirit, something that we’ve all known Brianna has had for a while.

Plus, meeting Ian Murray meant that Brianna got Claire’s old clothes and who didn’t love that coat?
