4. The reunion with Lord John Grey

At the very start of the episode, we saw Lord John meet up with Jamie alone. This was a chance to talk first, sharing that Willie was around and be honest with the current situation. I love that Lord John was respectful of Jamie’s feelings, while also looking out for his son.

But this is about Jamie. And we that moment of happiness in the reunion. John is a friend and you can see that in his eyes. This has been a season of reunions with various family members and friends. While Murtagh was the sweetest, I think this has been one of the warmest.

3. Teaching Willie about the deer

While out hunting, Jamie had the chance to see everything that Willie already knew. Growing up as the heir to an estate, it was clear that he would already know plenty about shooting. What he didn’t know was how to treat the deer afterward.

Jamie had the chance to bestow some wisdom on him. This was a chance for the two to bond more, as Willie stepped out of his comfort zone. It was beautiful to see Jamie be a dad to his son without Willie even realizing it. You could see the pride in Jamie’s eyes.
