3 best Roger moments in Outlander Season 4, Episode 3
2. The pride of being a MacKenzie
The Clan Call has to stand out as one of Roger’s best moments in “The False Bride.” In the middle of his argument with Brianna, the duty and honor of being a MacKenzie stands out. He is proud of his heritage and proud of the chance to lead the call.
Maybe this is more special because I know what’s coming. It’s leading to him being a MacKenzie, choosing to continue with his own name than “Wakefield,” which was given to him as he was raised by his uncle. This moment stands out, as it’s the first time he’s really shone as a MacKenzie (in Season 3 he was still a Wakefield for many).

However, it shows his honor isn’t just there when it comes to Brianna. He takes his duties seriously and will always perform them to the best of his ability. This is a man who will put a duty first and that’s definitely not something to frown about.
Yet, it was clear that he wished things had come at a better time. You could see that while he was proud to stand up as a MacKenzie, he wanted Brianna by his side as his bride-to-be. He was disappointed that she had said no and that she had left him alone.
Many in TV would give up their duty to race after someone they loved. Considering the situation and life, Roger did what people would do normally. He remained bound to the honor to lead the Clan Call.
