2. Talk of a new home

During the episode, Claire and Jamie figure out their next plan. It’s clear that Claire only wants to be in a city because of safety. Of course, there are elements to living in a city that wouldn’t work for them and cities aren’t necessarily safe.

As they discuss where to find a home, Jamie suggests somewhere that Claire is more familiar with. This would help her settle better in this New World and could also give them the edge. Why not settle in Boston where he can get some sort of connection to his daughter?

I just love how selfless Jamie is a lot of the time. He is devoted to Claire and will sacrifice some of his own happiness to make sure she’s happy. Part of me thinks that he doesn’t want to live in a city because he loves working the land, but if it makes Claire feel safer then he will do it.

In the end, they find a spot overlooking the mountains. Claire returns the sacrifice, choosing to stay on the land and make a deal with the devil to build a home where Jamie is clearly happy. It’s a place that reminds him of home and that look of awe, wonder, and love on his face is priceless.

Okay, I’ve technically included to moments in this, but they both connect because it’s all about finding a home together.
