Outlander Season 4 explores new layer to Claire and Jamie’s relationship
Claire and Jamie may be in their 40s in Outlander Season 4, but they’re still very much in love and passionate people. The show will now just explore a new layer of their relationship.
In the first two seasons, we got Claire and Jamie falling in love and exploring each other. Then the third season was about them reigniting their passion and love for one another. Outlander Season 4 will see a new layer to Claire and Jamie’s relationship, as they are very much in a place of happiness and love.
This is something that has been mentioned before. As Claire and Jamie get older, their relationship changes slightly. With new life experiences, their personalities adapt. They’re not the same people they were in the very first season.
Outlander Season 4 will focus on that. While they may be in their 40s, they’re still just as passionate about each other and have the chance to show that in different ways.

There’s still going to be some hot moments between the sheets. Romance, passion, and sex are still part of their lives, so we can expect more of that in the fourth season.
However, Caitriona Balfe wants fans to know that this isn’t “softcore porn,” which it has been described as in the past. All the scenes have a purpose. Before doing a sex scene, there is a reason for it. In the earlier seasons, we got to see them courting and getting to know each other. Outlander Season 4 is going to give us the chance to see how that part of their relationship has developed and grown.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Caitriona Balfe shared;
"We’re making a TV show, so if there’s going to be sex, it has to be there for a reason; it has to tell you something about where the character’s at or move forward the story in some meaningful way and we always have those discussions."
So, expect more meaningful scenes that will leave you swooning and wishing for a relationship just like theirs.
