#5. First glimpse of William Tryon

In the last trailer for Outlander Season 4, we got to see a first glimpse of Aunt Jocasta, Stephen Bonnet, and Ulysses. In this one, we got our first look at William Tryon. He’s the governor in the area and is the one that helps to set up a home for Claire and Jamie, so he plays an important role.

There’s only a quick look at the character. It’s hard to get an idea as to whether we’ll like him or not. Something deep down says we won’t.

He slouches in the chair, sitting comfortably as if he knows he owns the place. He’s talking to Jamie by the fire with drinks in hand. This is clearly a private conversation and it’s leading to something big. We know it’s likely Tryon offering Jamie land, but there clearly is a “but” to this conversation.

Tryon wants something. He’s not just going to give up land out of the goodness of his heart. This will likely lead to conversations between Claire and Jamie later, when they talk of fighting on the wrong side of history and when Jamie says he wants to build a home.
