How to watch the Great American Read on PBS tonight

You’ve spent the summer voting and now it’s time to find out who has won. The Great American Read premieres tonight on PBS and here’s how to watch live.

The Great American Read kick-started before the summer with a promise to rank the top 100 books in the United States. They included the likes of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Nineteen Eighty-Nine, and, of course, Outlander. Some of them are single books while others include the whole series.

We’ve spent the summer voting. With the chance to only vote for a book once a day, we’ve been dedicated to making sure Diana Gabaldon got our vote every single day. Every now and then there may have been other books that got our vote too, because we could vote for multiple books a day, but Outlander was the only series to get the daily vote, right?

After hearing that it was in the Top 40 last month, we knew we were doing our job. What we didn’t know was where on the list is was exactly and whether it would stay there.

Voting is still open. You’ve got until Oct. 18 to make sure your vote counts. Starting today, there will be a toll-free number available if you’re in the United States, too.

So, what begins tonight? Great American Read will air with a look at all the books on the list. This is a chance to see where some of the books are at the moment and what they mean to people. It’s a chance to see how the initiative has opened the worlds and universes to the world.

This is also the night that the toll-free number will be shared and that line of voting officially opened.
