Someone will hang

One of the first parts of the novel is a hanging scene. That is happening in the series, which is when the Frasers come across the pirate Stephen Bonnet, played by Downton Abbey‘s Ed Speleers.

Based on the promo, it looks like Hayes will be the one hanged, which fits the novel. However, there are concerns that Murtagh will take this place.

Murtagh is somewhere in the Colonies right now, after being sent there to live out the rest of his imprisonment service. There’s a chance that he’ll appear in this season but nobody knows the exact capacity that will be in.

Brianna and Roger get more onscreen time

Sophie Skelton revealed that Brianna and Roger will get more onscreen time together. This is expected, as they do become main characters in “Drums of Autumn” and beyond.

The two haven’t been included in a lot of promotional material, but we’ll certainly get to see them more as the decide whether to step through the stones and head to the past. They’ll find something that makes the question whether they need to go through the stones to warn Claire and Jamie.

Photos of filming have already shown Brianna in period dress in Scotland. Laoghaire and Joanie have also been spotted in these images, showing that the three will meet. This should mean Ian and Jenny are back, as Brianna makes it clear that she is Jamie Fraser’s only legitimate living child.
