She shares updates and answers questions

The Outlander crew are certainly responsive on Twitter. Every week there’s a new episode, the writers take to Twitter and answer questions. However, they’re not as vocal during Droughtlander. That’s not the case for Terry Dresbach. She is vocal and communicative at all times. When there are questions about the costumes, she answers herself to make sure mistakes aren’t made.

Just recently, she took to Twitter to share the real color of Claire’s new outfit for Outlander Season 4. Many other costume designers could stay out of the conversation and let fans debate. Dresbach wanted to make sure fans got the full effect.

Plus, she’s defended choices in the past. Just look at the lack of wardrobe for Claire in the latter half of Season 3. Terry stood up to those who complained about lack of changing clothing because it was just right for the time.

She brings us special surprises

There are some costumes not in the books. There are elements not within the novels to bring treats for the show fans. That’s happening in Outlander Season 4 with at least one of Brianna’s costumes. Terry Dresbach spends time creating special costumes just for the fans, adding her own personality in a way but keeping it suitable for the time period.

The costumes have become her baby. She’s helped the show grow in her own way, making sure the outfits speak to the event, the time period, and the personalities.

Whoever ascends to her position will likely have worked with her, so will know the time and effort that has gone into creating costumes in the past. Hopefully, the new designer taking over the reins will offer the same love and attention to detail we’ve been spoilt with over the last four seasons.
