We’re used to seeing Sophie Skelton play Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan’s daughter, but the British actress plays Nicholas Cage’s daughter in 211.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe aren’t the only two Outlander cast members doing movies. Sophie Skelton has caught the bug. Rather than play the daughter of Balfe and Heughan in the series, she takes on the role of Nicholas Cage’s daughter in the new movie 211.

Cage plays Mike Chandler in the movie based on real events. Skelton is Lisa MacAvoy and we get to see the events through her eyes, as someone who is an indirect victim but completely emotionally invested in the outcome. It gives the viewers a fresh set of unbiased eyes on the story of a bank heist that happened in 1997. However, the movie has a modern-day twist, using cell phones and social media to spread the word.

The movie is now available in theaters and through video-on-demand. It’s not had the best of reviews, but then this is a Nicholas Cage movies and he doesn’t routinely get the best reviews. I think the last time he had decent reviews was Face/Off and that wasn’t even the greatest–John Travolta certainly helped that one.

Regardless, Skelton was excited about the project and enjoyed it. Sometimes that’s the main thing, right? Skelton certainly enjoyed having the story told through Lisa’s eyes since it gave a different set of events. There was the sense of helplessness that the viewers would feel sitting at home and just waiting for any news.

If you do want to see Skelton in something other than Outlander211 is the latest. While it may have received low views from the critics, this could be something to enjoy one weekend while you get through Droughtlander.
