Simona Brown joins Outlander Season 4: A look at the actress

Simona Brown has been cast in the role of Gayle in Outlander Season 4. Here’s a look at the actress and what she could bring to the series.

One of the latest additions to the Outlander Season 4 cast is Simona Brown, who will play Gayle, a character that isn’t particularly memorable in the books — but perhaps will be on screen.

Fair warning to those who have not yet read the books, there are spoilers from “Drums of Autumn” in this article so stop reading here if you don’t want details revealed.

Brown’s acting resume dates back to 2013, when she made her TV debut. She’s been in shows such as Kiss Me First and Roots. While working on Outlander Season 4, she’s also filmed mini-series The Little Drummer Girl.

So far, Outlander hasn’t shared much in the way of episode order for Brown’s character. I’d estimate her part to be small and only last one, maybe two episodes, considering who Gayle is and the time period she is from.

Connections to Brianna

Like many other characters, Gayle will have a direct connection to Brianna. Unlike Lizzie, Gayle’s connection will be in the present day. Fans will be forgiven if they don’t remember too much about the character, as all I remember is her love for kilts!

She’s Brianna’s college roommate and best friend. There’s no indication in the books that Gayle knew of her best friends time traveling plans, but perhaps that will be something that is changed for the show.
