Outlander Season 4 spoilers: Who is Caitlin O’Ryan?

Caitlin O’Ryan has been cast in the role of Lizzie Wemyss in Outlander Season 4, we will break down who she is, and why she’s important next season.
One of the latest additions to the Outlander Season 4 cast is Caitlin O’Ryan, who will play Lizzie Wemyss. The great thing about O’Ryan is she’s a newcomer to television and will be making her acting debut, which means fans won’t have pre-conceived roles they have to fight through to get to Lizzie.
Fair warning to those who have not yet read the books, there are spoilers from “Drums of Autumn” in this article so stop reading here if you don’t want details revealed.

O’Ryan is a brand new Scottish actress who graduated from the Oxford School of Drama. She is making her TV/film acting debut so there isn’t much known yet about this young actress. Unlike many other posts looking at the new cast members, we can’t look at O’Ryan to get an idea of what she could be like in the Outlander role.
She tweeted about the casting, just last week with a clever hashtag proving she’ll fit into this fun carefree cast pretty easily.

We will likely see O’Ryan midseason as we’ll first need to see Brianna coming through the stones and find her aunt and uncle before she is even introduced, but once we see her in the series she will become a regular.
O’Ryan’s IMDb profile hasn’t been created at press time, so it’s difficult to see the number of episodes she will be in exactly. However, we can expect in her much of Outlander Season 4’s second half and beyond, as long as the series sticks with the books. Lizzie is an important character throughout.
