John Bell confirmed for TEDxYouth Glasgow talk to inspire young people

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe aren’t the only two Outlander stars inspiring others. John Bell is taking up the challenge, with a TEDxYouth Glasgow talk next month.

It’s common to see Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe leading the way as inspirations for others. Whether it’s the My Peak Challenge, running marathons, or just being caring human beings, the two are incredible additions to the world. But they’re not alone. Other Outlander cast members are taking up the challenge, including John Bell.

Best known to Outlander fans as Young Ian, the young actor will take to the stage at TEDxYouth Glasgow on May 31. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the talk live, as it will be available online.

The youth event is for those aged 12-26 and will be held at SEC Armadillo. This is the first year a TEDxYouth event has ever taken place in Glasgow, following on from the six successful years of running TEDxGlasgow. The event organizers decided it was time to support the development of young people, which has become a Scottish Government initiative this year.

So far 10 people have been lined up to speak. Bell was the second and is currently the only actor. There’s a mixture of all interests and experiences, including an author, a mountaineer, and even the co-founder of FutureX. Attendees are fully encouraged to try something new, experience a talk in something you’ve never considered, and push yourself out of your comfort zone. This is the way to open your eyes to all the possibilities in the world.

We wish Bell all the luck possible for the event. A TED talk is no easy feat, but an excellent accomplishment.
