Ainsley Jordan has secured the role of Judith Wylie in Outlander Season 4, but who is the actress behind the character?

While many people will want to know who Ainsley Jordan will play in Outlander Season 4, it’s also completely naturally to want to know more about the actress. You want to see what she’s done before and whether her past works give any indication of the things to expect in the series.

She only no TV acting experience

Jordan may be an experienced actress, but not when it comes to TV. She’s has performed on stage, in movies and on radio numerous times. Because of the on-stage experience, we really shouldn’t worry too much about her TV role. For one, the role is relatively small in the book, but another thing is that stage acting is long and tiring; just as much as TV. She’ll be used to the hustle, bustle and expectations.

More from Casting

In fact, stage performances often require better acting abilities. There’s a knack of being able to project the voice, continually act even when the camera isn’t on you and remember lines flawlessly. There’s a professionalism that while there for TV is bigger for stage actors.

Outlander will be her first foray into TV.

She has taken on lead roles

During her stage performances, she’s taken on the lead roles. One of her most well-known roles was in The Snow Queen at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Taking on the lead role in a production requires skill and experience, which gives us some good vibes for playing a more minor role in Outlander. If the showrunners decide to make Judith a larger role, we know that Jordan can handle it.

Jordan also starred in What Do You See?, a New Zealand movie. She takes on the lead role called Hannah in the movie, again proving that she has the skills to tackle everything thrown her way.

She has a knack for accents

On her United Agents bio, it states all the accents that she can do. Being originally from Scotland, she has the Ayrshire accent. This is to the south west of Scotland, but at least it will be natural if the showrunners decide her character will keep that accent.

Many fans will remember the Colonial accent from the characters at the very end of Outlander Season 3. It is possible that Jordan will put on a mixture of her Ayrshire and American accent to create more of an early hybrid accent.

She’s highly responsive on Twitter

After announcing her casting on the show, fans took to Twitter to welcome her in. Jordan was highly responsive, like Colin McFarlane, and thankful for all the mentions and welcome, retweeting as much as she could. She will certainly fit right into the world of Outlander if she keeps it up!

When we finally get to see Jordan on our screens, it’s possible that we’ll want to see more of her. Sure, she may be a character like Laoghaire, who is disliked because of her jealousy of Claire, but there’s always something good about having a natural talent on the screen.
