This Droughtlander may not be as long as the last, but you still need to find ways to get through it.
Droughtlander is hell. There’s little news released about the series and things to expect, and there are only so many times you can watch reruns, right? You’ve read all the books, listened to them on audible and gone through the companion pieces. What else is there to do until Outlander Season 4 is released?
How about podcasts? The official Outlander podcast is a favorite for many, but there are so many other options out there. Some of these podcasts only have episodes during the air dates, but others continue throughout Droughtlander. There are episodes to catch up on and others to get you through each new week.
Here are the top four podcasts you’ll want to listen to so you can get through Droughtlander.

The Official Outlander Podcast
Of course, the first one to listen to if you don’t already is the Official Outlander Podcast. You can get it on iTunes, Stitcher and more, allowing you to watch on all devices and on the computer. The showrunners take you behind the scenes of the episodes, discussing their decisions for changes and how multiple ideas become one.
These podcasts are insightful if there’s something you just didn’t get in the episode. You can download all the older podcast episodes if you haven’t listened to them all yet. They go all the way back to the very first episode, giving you 42 episodes in total to get you through. One a week will get you to Outlander Season 4.
A Dram of Outlander
When you want to hear the views of those who have been fans from the very beginning, A Dram of Outlander is the podcast for you. There are reviews on each of the episodes, tidbits on extracts from the books and updated news coming to you on a weekly basis.
The best thing about this podcast is that there are new episodes every couple of weeks, even throughout Droughtlander. There are also blog posts that accompany many of the blog posts to get more of an insight into thoughts and opinions.
A Dram of Outlander released the latest episode on Jan. 3 (at the time of writing this) and has 117 episodes so far. Plenty of hours to get you through this break.
The Outlander Cast Podcast
Another podcast that runs throughout Droughtlander is The Outlander Cast podcast. This was the first one I started listening to, just after the Outlander Season 3 premiere aired. Mary and Blake take you through the episodes, sharing all they thought was Good, Bad, and Great. They also give Kilt Ratings for the episode.
A great thing about the podcast is the Facebook group. Yes, you can become part of the community and your Kilt Ratings and GBGs can end up on the podcast. The two podcast hosts are extremely active in their group, sharing their thoughts and opinions on the latest news and events. You’ll also hear interviews with some of the cast members and crew of the show, which is awesome when it comes to hearing how differently actors speak in real life!
Podlander Drunkcast
Outlander wouldn’t be what it is without its alcohol. After all, main character Jamie is a Highlander and during Season 3 he became an alcohol smuggler. Many will partake in a wee dram of whiskey throughout the episode, and that includes the Podlander Drunkcast hosts.
The podcast is available throughout Droughtlander, so you can listen back at old episodes and stay tuned for newer ones. One of the downsides is there’s no set schedule for new episodes. But you can set your iTunes or Stitcher to download new episodes automatically.
