Most of Outlander season 3, episode 11 was focused on Claire again, so it’s not surprising there are lots of excellent moments.
Claire’s journey through the wilderness of the island took up 15-20 minutes of Outlander season 3, episode 11. While it got a little tedious after a while, it was definitely important. Once she met Father Fogden and was then reunited with Jamie, there were certainly some excellent moments taking over the whole of season 3.
Here’s a look at Claire’s best five moments from the episode, “Uncharted.”
#1. Putting her survivalist skills to use
Claire never had a usual upbringing. It has been mentioned plenty of times over course of the last three seasons, but this was one of the first times we saw her put her full survivalist skills to use. She picked up twigs and stones, so she could make a fire. She was able to act calmly as the snake slithered across her, despite every bone inside of her wanting to jump up and out of the way.

The survivalist skills didn’t even stop when she was rescued by Father Fogden. She picked up a mirror. Whether she knew she might need light or wanted it as a weapon is unclear, but it was the survivalist in her that made her act. It certainly came in use, as she quickly signalled to Jamie with the use of it.
#2. Talking to Coco
There’s no denying that Claire talking to Coco was one of the funniest moments. She knew this was the way to get Father Fogden to take her to Jamaica right away, and looked so serious why doing it. For once she didn’t question the sanity of the man caring for her. She just acted in the way that would help her escape.
It was another element of her survivalist nature coming out. She knew what she wanted and was willing to do whatever it took to get there.
#3. Relaxing in the bath
Despite the skulls of goats hanging overhead, Claire was able to relax in the bath. She felt safe and happy that she could get clean. While this could go against her survivalist nature, it brought out the feminine nature within her.
It also likely spoke to the aging part of her. After that trek through the wilderness, her muscles would have ached like crazy. It’s not surprising she just needed a warm bath to relax and unwind, while she planned ahead.
#4. Her talk with Marsali
Claire could have left Marsali worrying about what would come after her wedding. After all, this was the daughter of the woman who tried to get Claire killed. However, Claire knew that Marsali was nothing like her mother. The talk before Marsali’s wedding was a beautiful touch for the two to gain an understanding of each other. It also brought out a mother-in-law side to Claire.
#5. The whole turtle soup scene
In the end, Claire and Jamie finally reunited. On board the Artemis, Jamie found Claire’s penicillin so Claire could get the medical help she needed to fight off the growing infection. It was also time for the turtle soup scene.
Caitriona Balfe portrayed the drunken, feverish Claire perfectly. It was humorous and sexy at the same time. The best part of the whole scene has to have been her telling Jamie to bolt the door. She made sure every word came out clearly in her heated state.
