Sam Heughan reached 400,000 Twitter followers over the weekend and decided to celebrate with an #AskSam marathon.

Ever wanted to ask Sam Heughan questions? Wanted to learn more about him as a person, as well as the things to come for Jamie in Outlander? The actor took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to answer questions from the fans in celebration of reaching 400k followers. The Q&A took place at the same time as Diana Gabaldon opened her Twitter for a quick-fire Q&A.

The questions started relatively easily, with one fan wanting to know about the movies that scared the actor as a child. Most fans would likely relate to the answer of Labyrinth. David Bowie’s Goblin King was definitely questionable for children, along with all the other creatures of the Labyrinth. He was also asked about whether he had “salt and sauce” on his fish suppers (fish and chips in Scotland) and who he would star as in a Broadway play.

It didn’t take too long for questions to move onto Outlander, both the current and future seasons. Even the books were thrown in there. While fans likely had a lot of questions about the current changes to the books, Heughan opted for a few fun questions, including a debate over whether Ian Murray’s wooden leg or Fergus’ wooden hand is better at acting.

For those who were wondering, it turns out the smithy Heughan in Gabaldon’s eighth book is definitely based on Heughan. Well, his bad language is. The turtle soup scene is also coming!

Finally, for those who wanted to know more about the stunt doubles, yes both Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have stunt doubles, but they try to do their own stunts as much as possible. Fans already learned last week that it was Heughan at the top of the mast, so that shouldn’t be that surprising.
