Ser Duncan the Tall has to face a Trial by Seven on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Throughout the fourth episode, he needed to find six knights to fight with him, and it almost looked like he would need to forfeit. However, a sixth knight stepped out at the end, and it’s time to look at who will fight for him on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 episode 5.
There was a surprise at the end. For the longest time, Dunk thought that he could count on Ser Steffan, who ended up joining Prince Aerion’s side. However, it led to Raymun being knighted — by Lyonel Baratheon, which certainly hints that Dunk is not a knight — and then a reveal at the end that may give Dunk the boost he needs.

The six knights fighting for Dunk on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 episode 5
It didn’t take long for Dunk to get one supporter, as Steffan wanted to take down House Targaryen. Of course, we know that he switches sides, but Dunk thought he could count on him. Steffan also said that he would find friends, but in the end, it was Egg who found the support.
Ser Humfrey Beesbury and Ser Humfrey Hardyng both quickly joined the fight. For those who are struggling to follow who is how, Hardyng is the knight who went up against Prince Aerion during the lance duel. Aerion stabbed Hardyng’s horse in the neck, and as Hardyng tried to jump from his horse, he ended up trapped and his leg broken. Hardyng is still okay to ride, so he’ll be doing most of the fight from the horse.
Beesbury is the brother-in-law of Hardyng, and the two went up against each other during a lance battle earlier in the tourney. They broke 12 lances between them, and it’s clear that he wants to support his brother-in-law in the fight against the Targaryen side.

Ser Robyn Rhysling was also one of the three Egg had found, who had his eye taken out by Prince Aerion during the tourney. Of course, he has a grudge against the prince, and this is a chance to get revenge.
Ser Lyonel Baratheon was always going to say yes for the fight. This man just wants to have a good time, and he also does create a quick bond with Dunk.
When Steffan joined Aerion, Raymun asked to be knighted. He is the fifth knight to join Dunk, and then it was up to Dunk to find the last one at the very last minute.
In a shock reveal, Prince Baelor Targaryen rode out, sharing that he would join Dunk’s side. The benefit of Baelor joining them is that he could fight against the three Kingsguard knights for Aerion, as they would be sworn not to harm Baelor, due to him being a Targaryen prince. Would this protect him, though?

What does this mean for House Targaryen?
Once again, it seems like House Targaryen is going to enter some sort of civil war. After all, it’s brother against brother, and Maekar isn’t happy about it.
However, it’s probably not going to change too much. After all, this is a Trial by Seven, and Baelor points out to Maekar that Dunk was simply protecting the weak, as a knight should. It wasn’t about Aerion, but about the harm that Aerion was causing.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms airs on Sundays at 10/9c on HBO and HBO Max.
