With The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 almost here and the trailer teasing a wedding, many want to know who Belly ends up with in the books. After all, it’s clear that her heart is still with Conrad despite being with Jeremiah in the trailer of the series.
The third book picks up during college, with Belly and Jeremiah still together and at the same school. Yes, they do end up engaged, but do they end up married? Of course, we’ll delve into book spoilers in this post.
Belly ends up with one of the brothers in The Summer I Turned Pretty books
Yes, Belly does end up with one of the brothers. This isn’t one of those stories where she decides to go her own way completely and breaks up with both of them. However, she doesn’t cheat on one brother to be with the other.
While she’s with Jeremiah, he ends up cheating on her. Rather than break up with each other, they get engaged, but eventually, Belly realizes that she can’t go through with the wedding. Everything is canceled, as Belly realizes that Conrad was always the man for her.
She ends up with Conrad at the very end of The Summer I Turned Pretty books. They get married at Cousins Beach, and Jeremiah is there to celebrate the nuptials.
There are a lot of issues with the way the third book develops, especially when it comes to the writing of growth. There’s little growth for any of the characters, really, and it’s disappointing considering so many years have supposed to have past.
Who will Belly end up with in The Summer I Turned Pretty?
While there have been a few changes to The Summer I Turned Pretty on Prime Video, the bones of the story has always been there. With this in mind, I can’t see the series changing things.
We do get to see Belly walking down the aisle, but we don’t get to see who she is going to. With Laurel there with a smile, it’s possible that this is the ending of the books, with Belly choosing Conrad and walking down the aisle to him. After all, there has to be a reason why we’re not seeing the groom.
The trailer doesn’t indicate that they’ll include Jeremiah’s cheating storyline in the season, but that’s fundamental to his and Belly’s eventual breakup. It’s going to make a lot of people hate Jeremiah, though!
The Summer I Turned Pretty will premiere on Wednesday, July 16 on Prime Video.
