The Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1 finale ended with a major cliffhanger for Julia and Henry. Now there are a lot of questions about where they could have gone.
After a whole season of searching for each other in the past, Julia and Henry were finally able to escape Castle Leathers and Castle Grant together. They made their way back to Craigh na Dun, with the hope of getting through the stones. That brought questions, but there wasn’t a lot of time to answer them, as danger came their way.
In the end, Henry did the only thing he could. He grabbed Julia’s hand and placed it on the stones, and now we need to wait until Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 to find out where they have gone.

Will Julia and Henry remain in time in Outlander: Blood of My Blood?
One of the first thoughts about the stones is that Julia and Henry didn’t have gemstones. They don’t know they need them to travel through the stones, so either, the series needs to break canon (again) or it needs to add a new twist.
We know that gems are more to help with directing the time travels through the stones. It’s possible that the three can still make their way through the stones, but that they don’t quite get to where they want, or that they are even together.
However, there is a lot of drama to come should Julia and Henry remain in the past. Arch Bug is close, and he wants to kill Henry. Believing that Henry kidnapped Julia and William, it’s possible that Simon will want the man dead as well. It’s far more dangerous for them to stay in time, and this could lead to some major moments to start Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2.
Alternatively, they could stay in time, but travel to a slightly different time of day. They could end up a few hours later, leading to Arch no longer being at the stones or looking around to see what had happened. With Arch knowing that they were at the stones and suddenly disappearing, this could lead to some fear and superstition that they are witches.

They can’t end up in their own time
One thing we do know is that they can’t make it back to the 1920s. Claire grew up believing that her parents died in a car accident, so it doesn’t make sense for Julia and Henry to get back to their own time.
Of course, Roger’s dad does get back to his own time in the novellas, but Roger doesn’t remember it. It’s Jerry who catches Roger when Roger’s mom throws Roger over the stairs, allowing Roger to live as the tube collapses during the Blitz. So, Julia and Henry could certainly make it back, but Claire never learns of the truth. Does Uncle Lamb even learn the truth?

Getting the two back to their own time would open a huge can of worms, so I doubt that’s going to happen. However, I would be intrigued to see an Uncle Lamb and Young Claire Outlander story.

They could end up in another time in the Outlander prequel
There’s nothing to say that Julia and Henry have to only go to the two time periods. They could end up in another time period completely.
Before Outlander: Blood of My Blood started, we theorized about Henry heading to post-World War II due to the memorial in the backdrop in the trailer, but at claireandjamie.com, we realized what had happened there. It doesn’t close the door to the two heading to the 1950s or later, and this could further open a can of worms for Claire’s story after she returns from the past herself.
Of course, the family could end up separated as well, since they don’t have the gemstones to travel. This could lead to one being further in the future than the other, and a new story of them trying to find their way back to each other.
