Conrad continues to show up for Belly without her realizing it in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3, episode 6. He proves he is the right Fisher brother for her.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3, episode 6.

As the wedding date approaches, Belly learns that there are changes being made to her guest list. She’s going to end up with people there she doesn’t know, and Jeremiah doesn’t seem to care all that much. This is supposed to be about them, and he wants her to focus on that, but it’s not easy allowing someone else to take over things.

While also planning a wedding, the two need to find a place to live once they’re married. However, they start to run out of time, and it’s clear that Belly is starting to second-guess a few things about being a wife.

Conrad notices that Belly isn’t happy in The Summer I Turned Pretty

After an unsuccessful day of house hunting, Belly returns to Cousins, where Conrad is still also staying. This gives Conrad a chance to really see what Belly is going through, noticing that she’s skipping meals and staying locked up in her room.

He knows that part of this is because Laurel isn’t supportive of the idea, so Conrad does something that Jeremiah or even Steven should have done. He goes to see Conrad, but not as a way to beg for support of the wedding. Instead, he goes to encourage Laurel not to regret not being there for Belly. If this does work out, then it’s Belly’s only wedding.

Of course, Laurel brings up her objections about the wedding to Conrad, knowing that he doesn’t think Belly and Jere should get married either. However, Conrad is the ever-loving brother and man. He points out that he just wants Belly and Jere to be happy.

This works, and Laurel ends up turning up to Belly’s bridal shower that Taylor has planned. Belly is even able to move back home with Laurel for the time being, bringing us the mother-daughter moments that we’ve missed the last few episodes.

Things take a turn for Belly’s feelings

As Jeremiah, Conrad, and Adam all hang out, Adam shares that he wants to bring his assistant Keyleigh to the wedding as his date. The two are together and they want to take things to the next level.

Conrad isn’t happy about this, knowing that Keyleigh was the woman Adam cheated on Susannah with. It’s clear that he didn’t end things, and he doesn’t like Keyleigh because of it. Jeremiah doesn’t feel like he can really say much. If he goes against it, will his dad pull the funds for the wedding?

There is already some tension between Adam and Jeremiah, and not just because of past comments. Adam doesn’t really like Belly being at the house, because she got her air in the sink and changed the espresso machine. I don’t think this man can be happy with anything that doesn’t go exactly the way he wants, and that’s going to include the wedding.

Yes, it’s because of him and Keyleigh that the guest list has gone up by 100 people. And they’re people Belly doesn’t know and I don’t even think Jere knows them. The whole thing feels off.

Throughout the episode, Belly has started to second-guess a few things. It’s going to be hard being a wife, and maybe she isn’t ready for it. However, it’s the very end of the episode that really changes things for her. As Conrad comes back to Cousins with a gash on his leg, she starts to treat it and he ends up putting his head on her shoulder. There’s definitely a spark there. Could their love be reigniting?

Steven and Denise talk about setting up their own company

Throughout all of this, we get more on Steven’s relationships with both Taylor and Denise. Who would have thought that there could be something with Denise? There’s even a chance of exploring that as the two work together, discussing whether they should set up a game company together.

What about Taylor, though? Steven tells her that he just wants to be friends. It looks like he’s really taken it to heart about what she said before the accident. If only he knew what she said during it, but then, I don’t blame Steven for pulling away even if he did hear that. Was Taylor saying things a little too late? Maybe, and now she has to live with that.

The Summer I Turned Pretty airs on Wednesdays on Prime Video.
