Secrets start to come out in The Couple Next Door season 1, episode 4. Can relationships go back to what they once were?

Danny and Gary (why did I think he’s name was Spencer?) end up facing the mob boss that they got into bed with. Meanwhile, Pete finds out that Evie has lied a little to him, and Becka needs to figure out who broke into their house.
Danny and Gary need to pay the mob boss back in The Couple Next Door
After the diamonds were stolen, it was only a matter of time before the mob boss would come after them. Danny’s family is being stalked, and Danny gets an envelope with photos of his son. It’s clear that someone is stalking him, and the mob boss makes it clear that he knows Danny has another son. Watch out!
Danny and Gary need to get the money or the diamonds back. They will have the mob boss on their backs if not, and their families will be at risk.
It’s all getting out of control for Danny, though. Pete’s colleague gets photos from the building site. They can clearly see Gary’s face, and Pete has now seen Gary and Danny talking with each other. Pete decides to confront Danny about the situation, with Danny making it clear that he and Evie will get hurt. This isn’t a threat directly from Danny and more of Danny’s way of protecting them, but it’s clear that Pete thinks that Danny is the one threatening it all.
Danny tries to tackle the situation, and it leads to Sophie, Pete’s colleague, following him to a dangerous location as Danny looks for anything he can get to get the mob boss off his back. He needs those diamonds. Sure, Sophie sends her location to Pete, but she shouldn’t have gone alone. At least for once phones are on silent!
Sophie is lucky to get out without being seen and get some photos. One thing Pete and Sophie do find out is that Danny and Gary are looking for something to do with diamonds. Sophie starts to question whether they are on an undercover mission, but Pete is sure that that isn’t the case. Danny and Gary are up to something.
Becka loses her job thanks to the video
Revenge porn does way more than embarrass someone. Becka finds that nobody is coming to her yoga classes now, and it means that all her classes are being suspended. This has a knock-on effect, as Becka now has effectively lost her job.
When there’s a payment for a class trip due, she goes into the account. It was only a matter of time before Danny taking money out of the savings account would be noticed. Danny tries to brush it off as putting down a deposit on the new kitchen, which is what the money in there was originally for, but the truth is eventually going to come out.
She decides to follow Danny the next day to see who he is meeting. When she sees him going into the apartment of a woman, she naturally assumes affair. Who wouldn’t? I mean, it’s not like there wasn’t an affair, although that’s not happening right now.
Becka does decide to go back to the apartment to get answers, though. It’s time to get the truth about the entire situation.
Danny has a line that he won’t cross with Evie
Evie wants more with Danny, which isn’t that surprising. However, while Danny has crossed lines in the past, this isn’t a line he will cross. He makes it clear that they can’t do it again until Pete is on board with it all.
Of course, Pete isn’t going to end up on board. He finds out from Becka that Evie shared that both of them were ready for this type of relationship. Pete shares with Becka that he didn’t have that full conversation with Evie. I feel for Becka and Pete in all of this.
Becka and Danny have a lifestyle that works for them. I have no judgment for them, as long as they both play by their rules they set up. They also need to avoid pressuring anyone else into anything, and that’s the way they are acting. Poor Pete is being pressured into it all by his wife. Evie gets angry that Pete won’t get involved in the whole thing, and it’s clear that their marriage is likely coming to an end.
It all gets worse for Evie and Pete when Evie learns that she’s pregnant. It’s clearly with Danny’s child, and it’s only a matter of time before Pete finds all this out.
Evie heads to her parents’ house for her sister’s baby shower. She does share the pregnancy news with her sister, and then she gets fully invested in the prayer circle. Evie is starting to view all this as goodness from God. Of course, now the cat is out of the bag to Pete. With Evie’s sister not knowing that Pete isn’t the father, she shares her congratulations.
What happened to Alan in The Couple Next Door?
Alan didn’t have a heart attack while in Becka’s house. He had a stroke. His wife decided to protect him by saying that they thought there was an intruder in the house. It’s enough to keep trouble out of their house, but for how long?
As Alan gets home, it’s clear that he has lost a lot of abilities. Now there’s a risk that everything he has done will be caught. After all, Danny is running a search into who posted the blog with his and Becka’s video. It’s only a matter of time before it’s tracked to Alan’s IP address.
Poor Jean, though. She finally gets into Alan’s computer and finds all the videos and photos of Becka that he’s stored over the months or years—however long he has been stalking.
As Becka learns about the “intruder” in her home, she doesn’t put it all together at first. She has no idea that Alan was there for ulterior motives, and she offers to help Alan with his stroke rehabilitation. Jean, understandably, doesn’t want any of this to happen considering what she knows about Alan’s stalking behavior, but she also decides that it could be a good idea. What is she doing? What situation is she manipulating?
Some secrets are out, but not all of them. There’s a lot to come in the penultimate episode of The Couple Next Door season 1.
