Evie and Danny only met in The Couple Next Door series premiere. However, it seems like there is much more to the story.
In the series premiere, Evie and Pete moved into a new neighborhood. Becka quickly came over to introduce herself, and Danny wasn’t far behind. From the minute Evie saw Danny, there was a look. It seems to indicate that they already know each other.
Danny owes someone money in The Couple Next Door
During The Couple Next Door series premiere, we learn that Danny owes someone money. He told a friend at work that he tried something and it went south, and now he’s dipped into savings. It’s led to some financial trouble. After getting some money, he texted someone to say that he had the money.
At first, it would seem like he got into something shady and now owes a criminal money. However, he seemed a little too uneasy to initially agree to transport that briefcase, knowing that there was something dangerous about it. So, is it possible that Danny owes someone completely different money?
What if it’s not an “owe,” but more of a blackmail. Is it possible that Danny had an affair and now he’s being blackmailed by the woman—or even the husband?—to stay quiet?
Could Evie be the other woman in The Couple Next Door?
It’s clear that Evie has an interest in Danny from the start. She gives him a look that almost says that she knows him but has to pretend that she doesn’t. There is some sort of explanation here that they grew up together or went to the same school since they both seem to be from the area, but one of them would have said something by now.
After meeting him, Evie seems to keep an eye on Danny. She watches him go to work, and she flirts with him at the BBQ. She could just be interested in her new neighbors, but there’s just something different about Evie and Danny compared to Evie and Becka.
The two end up sharing a look in the rain at the end of the episode. There is an image that shows them kissing in the rain wearing the clothes they are now, suggesting that this will happen in the next episode. Would they really do that in front of everyone, though? This is probably some sort of fantasy.
