Theo and Nan head out on their honeymoon tour, which certainly helps to further change the headlines. Nobody is speaking about Jinny anymore, and it means Guy has some time to relax a little. However, he’s not happy with the situation that he’s in, and he writes to Lizzy with a letter for Nan to give it to her, allowing Nan to find out where she is so that she can find him if she wants.

Lizzy spends the episode trying to figure out what to do. She wants to make sure Nan is open to receiving the letter, and this starts to test their friendship.

Lizzy decides Nan shouldn’t get the letter in The Buccaneers season 2, episode 2

With the honeymoon tour over, Lizzy goes to visit Nan. She wants to find out how Nan is with the choice that she has made, and Nan puts on a smile and pretends that she is happy. However, Theo hears Nan crying, and he tells Lizzy about it. Lizzy decides to take Theo’s side in this, making it clear to Nan that she can’t hurt Theo like this.

During the spring gala, which is held before the opening of Parliament each year, Nan realizes that marriage isn’t just for life. It’s forever, as she’ll be buried with Theo when they both die. This is something that she has to live with now, and she isn’t sure she wants it.

However, Jinny’s abusive husband turns up and threatens Nan. He makes it clear that he will find Jinny, and then she will be locked away in an asylum. After all, the papers are writing her as a mad woman, and he can work with that. Nan realizes that she needs to stay in the marriage, and she needs to make sure she sells it. Not just for Theo and the world, but for herself. She needs to make the best of this decision, and she tells Lizzy that.

So, Nan burns Guy’s shirt, while Lizzy burns Guy’s letter. He is going to be left in the past. For now, at least.

Jinny wants to go back home in The Buccaneers

Meanwhile, Jinny and Guy try to make a life in Italy, but it’s not much of a life for them in hiding. Jinny shares that she wants to head back to England, but Guy points out that that isn’t possible. For the safety of her and her son, she needs to stay in hiding.

Guy also shares that he loves the new baby. While he would love to be with Nan, he wants to keep Jinny safe. Maybe not getting a reply to his letter is a sign to him that he needs to make the most of the life that he now has.

Cora debuts in high society in her own flare

Meanwhile, Cora gets her chance to meet the eligible men in London. Dickie’s mom, who has now moved into the house with Honoria as the bailiffs came to her place, makes it clear that Cora won’t find love. She will be used for her money, and that’s it.

Well, Cora doesn’t want that, so she makes herself seem as ineligible of a lady as possible. Conchita realizes what she is doing, noting that Cora wants to find love. Now Conchita and Dickie need to find Cora someone to love who is also eligible. This is a little harder to do, but Conchita understands this need.

As for Dickie's family, they are settling in at the house. While Mabel and Honoria relish in the idea of sharing a room, Honoria realizes that she needs to be a dutiful daughter. Mabel steps up as well, getting to know her girlfriend's mom.

Theo learns the truth about Guy

The very end of the episode sees the beans spilled. During the evening, Nan gives a speech about how woman shouldn’t be property. They shouldn’t be held at the whim of their husbands, and that they should have rights. Theo agrees with her before walking away, and Nan runs after him.

However, Seadown finds her and goes in for an attack. Theo jumps out of the shadows and hits him. This is setting up for some sort of family drama, but Seadown decides to share some information the following day. He wants Theo to look into what happened with Guy when he left, making it clear that Guy was seen by servants the night before and the morning of the wedding. Where did he stay?

Theo goes to face Nan, but as they are around people, no words are spoken. It’s clear by the looks in their eyes that the truth is coming out in The Buccaneers season 2.
