Each season, we’ve spent time watching as the Hargreeves siblings save the world. We’ve also watched them come together as a family in The Umbrella Academy, even with Ben, who was from the Sparrow timeline and not the Umbrella timeline.
The fourth season brought us a storyline that included a bit of the Mandela Effect. People remembered different timelines, and there were items from these other timelines in the existence of this one. Yet, the Hargreeves siblings never became part of The Umbrella Academy, never developing their abilities.
That all changed with some spike sake. With the seven siblings getting their powers back, it was time to see the final battle. Of course, there was only one big bad, and it wasn’t the Jeans.
The Umbrella Academy has come to an end after four seasons
There is some bad news for those who want more to the story. Sadly, The Umbrella Academy Season 5 is not going to happen.
No, Netflix hasn’t canceled it. As we learned that there would be a fourth season, we also learned that it would be the final season. This was written fully as if it was the final season, bringing the story to an epic conclusion. It’s rare that a Netflix show has a chance to conclude now, so it’s great to see that this one got that chance.
It certainly makes sense with the way things ended. Without giving away too many spoilers for those who haven’t quite caught up, it’s clear that the series finale is, in fact, a series finale. There is plenty of closure to feel like the story doesn’t need anymore. You can see that it was written as the end.
The Umbrella Academy arguably leaves us wanting more, and that’s a great thing. A good show will end on a high, and I do feel like this series managed it with the fourth season.
