With The Couple Next Door seemingly pushed to 2025, I’m a little concerned about Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Will that end up being pushed?
It is a little harder to trust Starz when it pushes things back without word. The Couple Next Door was slated to arrive in 2024, and then we just had crickets. This is despite the series being filmed and through production. It’s even aired in the UK already!
The last we heard, the series would arrive “this winter,” which means it’s more likely to be in 2025. Does this mean other shows are being pushed back?
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is slated to arrive in 2025
When Starz released the news that the series was done filming, it followed up with the release window of 2025. That’s a big window, but at least we knew we would get more in the world of Outlander next year. After all, it’s looking like Outlander Season 8 is going to be pushed to 2026.
However, will that still happen. We did think that Outlander Season 7B would arrive earlier in 2024. That may have been the reason The Couple Next Door was pushed back. This could have a huge knock-on effect with shows.
It’s hard to trust a network when it doesn’t stick to plans. It’s also hard to trust a network when it just gives release years. Sure, there have been issues with the pandemic and then the writers and actors strikes of 2023, but they didn’t affect The Couple Next Door and the Outlander: Blood of My Blood has wrapped production now.
I still expect to see the prequel series to arrive in 2025. This would make sense with Outlander Season 7B coming this year and Season 8 likely arriving in late 2025 at the earliest—I’m still expecting 2026. Starz will want an Outlander series to air during that Droughtlander, and the prequel makes the most sense. That would give the show time to air, get renewed, and start production again for a 2027 start.
However, I’m concerned at Starz right now because of the way it’s quietly pushing a lot back.
