It’s almost time for another period drama based on World War II history. We Were the Lucky Ones stars Joey King and Logan Lerman as two members of the same family separated in the war.

They are in a dangerous situation. The family is Polish Jews, and as the Nazis come into the country, they know that they are all in trouble. They need to get out of the country, with one of them already in Nazi-Occupied Paris pretending to be a Gentile. The whole family is separated, with the hope of reuniting after the War.

We Were the Lucky Ones is based on the book by Georgia Hunter. It is based on her own family history during World War II. This is not a series you will want to miss, and the first three episodes drop on Thursday, March 28 on Hulu.

When are new episodes of We Were the Lucky Ones coming out?

The first three episodes drop together. This is a great way to get into the series and really grasp the storylines. You’ll be able to watch them to your heart’s content throughout the week.

After that, Hulu is dropping one episode per week. All the episodes will be released on Thursdays.

If you live outside of the U.S., you’ll be able to watch the series on Disney+ under the Star banner. For most countries, the release is the same as in the U.S. However, those in Australia and New Zealand will need to wait until Wednesday, April 17 for the series to begin.

There are eight episodes in the series. That puts the finale date as Thursday, May 2. This is sure to be a series you go back and binge-watch from start to finish.
