Scottish actor Brian McCardie has passed away suddenly at the age of 59. The death has come as a shock to make, and Maril Davis quickly took to social media to share her tribute.

Since then, tributes has rolled out from many of those McCardie worked with over the years. He was well known for the likes of Line of Duty and Time.

Who was Brian McCardie going to be in Outlander: Blood of My Blood?

McCardie had already appeared in the Outlander world during the first season of the series. He played Sir Marcus MacRannoch, the man who gave Claire and the MacKenzie men a place to hide as they figured out how to save Jamie. He also allowed his cows to be used to help with the ambush to free Jamie Fraser.

It turned out that Marcus once loved Ellen MacKenzie. That was his reason to help after initially making it clear that nobody could get a prisoner out of Wentworth Prison.

He was announced in another role for the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood. He was going to take on the role of Isaac Grant in the prequel series, father to Malcolm Grant, who is a potential suitor for Ellen. It’s not clear how much he filmed and whether there is going to be some recasting at this time.

Tributes pour out for Brian McCardie

Maril Davis shared a tribute to the actor, which was shared on the official Outlander channels. This was followed by others sharing their tributes.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood star Jamie Roy was one of the first actors on the series to share his tribute, making it clear that it was McCardie’s movie Filth that encouraged him to get into acting; something he never had the chance to share with the actor.

Director Alec Bowman Clarke and producer Paul Larkin also took to social media to share their tributes. McCardie will be missed by the acting world, especially when it comes to Scottish productions.
